Guy Johnson, Partner
Guy Johnson, Esq., is a civil rights attorney with more than 20 years of experience helping organizations and individuals better understand the federal and state policy landscape and building their capacity for policy advocacy. He has extensive expertise in federal policy analysis and working as a technical coach with advocates and leaders at the state, district, school, and community levels on civil rights laws, policy trends, and legal compliance and enforcement. Guy is an experienced and seasoned facilitator. Previously he served as an attorney for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights and as the Staff Director for the Equity and Excellence Commission. He has been a Senior Policy Advisor on education and workforce issues in the Domestic Policy Council of the White House, and worked as an attorney for low-income tenants and undocumented immigrants at Casa de Maryland.
Cynthia Palmerin, Partner
Cynthia Palmerin leverages her 10 years of experience in K-12 education and equity to manage projects that promote equitable outcomes. Previously, she served as the Director of Operations for the Opportunity Institute where she oversaw the day-to-day activities, development, and budgets. She also spent 3 years working at the UC Berkeley School of Law as a legal assistant, providing support to the dean and associate deans. She also worked as Program Coordinator of the Kadish Center on Law and Morality, at Berkeley Law. Cynthia received her M.A. in Transatlantic Studies from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and an M.A. in Political Science from San Francisco State University.
